i have feelings about luke being a huge bruce fan. he would be so into his music and when he was little, he probably went to one of bruce’s concerts with his parents and just fell in love with the guy’s energy and stage presence. and luke knew that here was someone who was  a true performer and absolutely loved his music and what he was doing. he had this connection with the audience and they were belting out his lyrics and luke was just starry-eyed about bruce. his parents continue to play bruce’s music in the house because luke is probably a bigger fan of his than his parents are now. and they tease him about it. alex and reggie tease him about how luke reminds them of bruce. he scowls at them and says, “i’m not trying to be like him. i just like his music, okay?” 

but 25 years later, he hears that bruce is still touring and luke just about bursts into tears of happiness because he can’t believe this man still has the same charisma, stage presence, and connection with his fans that he did 25 years ago. and he asks julie if she can score some tickets to a bruce concert and she pretends not to know who he is but she knows exactly who “the boss” is and when she actually does secretly gets tickets and surprises luke with them, he gives her the biggest hug ever and he just says, “you don’t know much this means to me. and my parents. thank you.” she just gives him that warm smile of hers and when they go to that bruce concert, he swears he can see his little kid self again whenever bruce lets the audience sing his songs back to him and when he still jumps around on stage with his guitar even though he’s 70 instead of 30 something now. luke knows his parents would love this and asks julie, “can you take a video for my parents? he’s always meant so much to them too.” wow, that was long. 😂

Story time~ I wasn’t completely sold on watching Julie and The Phantoms when it first came out solely because it kinda looked like a regular kids show? As I kept seeing it tho my interest slowly rose. Tumblr went insane with it, all the gifs, fan art and everything. The more I learnt about it (just snippets) the more I wanted to watch it. But things kept keeping me from it, then finally one day while I was scrolling through FB — Netflix decided to upload “Unsaid Emily” to their account and somehow I found it. I watched it. And cue in the ugly sobbing.

I was almost surprised when I found out a lot of people resonated with the song, and it made me re-learn that regret is probably one of the most difficult emotions to carry.
